My name is Diego Vargas.

I’m a Los Angeles based lettering tattoo artist recognized as one of the best lettering tattoo artists in the world by CoCreate and Inked Abroad at just 22 years old. My work has earned lettering awards at international tattoo conventions, including Puerto Rico, and have been featured alongside some of the most respected artists in the industry.

By 23, I began teaching other tattoo artists how to elevate their lettering both on paper and on skin sharing the systems, techniques, and mindset that helped me rise quickly in the craft. Teaching has become a core part of my work, allowing me to pass on the standards and discipline required to create truly exceptional lettering tattoos.

Art has always been a passion of mine and has become my obsession. Growing up in Los Angeles California I was surrounded by art everywhere I went. The colorful graffiti that covered my neighborhood never seemed liked an eyesore but as an inspiration. As I continued to learn more about art, my style has developed into somewhat of a mix between graffiti and Chicano calligraphy. It has become my favorite thing to do, my passion.

My mission is to raise the standard of what tattoos should look like. For me, tattooing isn’t just about ink, it’s art. Art that reflects my culture, my community, and a deep respect for the people who wear it.
